Alumni Weekends are a chance for our diverse and interesting
alumni experts to come back to campus and share their knowledge and experiences
with current students. Past Alumni Weekends have focused on everything from Theory
of Knowledge topics to navigating life when presented with a multitude of paths
to the ways CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) fits into our everyday lives.
For the 2009-2010 school year, the theme of Alumni Weekends will
share the Alumni Council’s chosen theme of “education as a force for peace and
a sustainable future.” The Council has identified three areas that they would
like to address in particular: HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and education; micro-lending;
and classroom education.
If you would like to volunteer to be a campus speaker on any
of these topics, or another topic that you feel fits the theme of “education as
a force for peace and a sustainable future,” please contact me at jeremiah.stevens@uwc-usa.org. Please also indicate your ability to cover
your own travel expenses to Albuquerque.
Alumni Weekends for the 2009-2010 academic year are
scheduled for October 30-Nov 1, 2009, and April 9-11, 2010.
